Map Assistants and Ambassadors Wanted

Map Assistants and Game Ambassadors

Play Risk Map Assistants Ambassadors
Map assistants are very important partners to us while creating new strategy maps for Major Command Risk online games. Gearing up for going public again, the responsibilities of CentCom are the creation of a good clip. We are looking for interested and able Risk players to report for the following positions: Map Assistants and Game Ambassadors.

The first one described here by our Major Command Studios head, Shepherd. We’re currently seeking folks with sharp eyes and impeccable taste to serve as map assistants in our Screening Room. The screening room is where our map artists craft future Major Command Risk maps, working on everything from the placement of the regions down to the width of the map’s troop containers. This is not the place for user-generated map development; that is still to come. This is a viewing room where our artists seek advice and feedback. Screening room map assistants will be expected to check in routinely (at least weekly) to look over and give feedback on new drafts. Assistants should have a solid understanding of how the game plays, and of the unique game features here at Major Command. Knowledge of Photoshop would be helpful in conversing with the artists, but is absolutely not required. Candidates should also be able to keep a secret, as some new projects we’ll want to keep under wraps until we’re ready to unveil!

If you are interesting in this, and we are looking for up to 10 folks, please send a private note to Shepherd.

Game Ambassadors

The second position is that of Risk game Ambassador.

The responsibilities will be as a go-to person for new players to ask questions of and get answers. As well as set up and play games with new players. As a game Ambassador, you will be charged with extolling and extending the good will of Major Command Risk strategies. You must know the rules of the game, the ins and outs of this site, and where to direct new players who need answers you cannot provide. We are looking for up to 3 people for this (staff) position.

If interested, please send a private note to ghost, who will be the liaison.

Play Risk free as a game tester

Play Risk Free

You can now play risk free as much as you want. All you need is to log into our Major Command risk game development site and enjoy playing your favorite Risk game online absolutely free to play. Only keep in mind that our strategy games are not associated with Pogo Risk or Hasbro games.

Otherwise, things are going great behind the scenes at ol’ Major Command headquarters (located in a sub 24 miles off the antarctic coast).  So great in fact that we need a bit of assistance from some enterprising game players.

Major Command Risk Game Tester

We have two volunteer positions open.

1. We need a group of about 10 players to test online new features added to Major Command risk game. Our game development site is like a parallel world of the main website where new features are rough and mostly functioning. The position would require logging into the game development site occasionally, playing a few strategy games, putting features through their paces, and most importantly, reporting bugs and suggestions.

2. We are also looking for gamers to help support and grow the wiki to our Major Command risk games. These inline game players would coordinate and plan new entries as well as fill out and spruce up current entries. They should have knowledge of Wikipedia formatting (we use the same wiki software) or be able to learn it quickly.  They should also have an undying passion for strategic gaming reference material. Visit our Wiki page:

Ok, the last part is not required, but helpful. So, did you want to play risk free as an online game tester?

All positions are for volunteer game testers, but may have various perks down the road.

If you are interested in playing risk online free as a game tester, just contact Badorties via a private note.

Two important Major Command Risk game rules

The Two Risk Game Rules

At Major Command Risk, we have two very strict rules. What are the two so important Major Command risk game rules? Before using any unauthorized methods to play our strategy games please think about it twice to avoid a ban from accessing the site. So what are these risk game rules about?

  1. Do not make a second account!
  2. Do not be ‘that guy’!

Risk game rules

Things are picking up around here, and we’ve seen some characters come and go. It’s a good time to lay down the proverbial law. If you don’t know what ‘that guy’ is, he is the player who ruins the fun and experience for other players by being rude, abusive, overly annoying or other forms of douchebaggery. Competitive banter in the game chat is fun, but ‘that guy’ will take it too far, throwing in racial or derogatory comments. Moving up the scoreboard is everyone’s goal, but ‘that guy’ will systematically try to work the angles and grey area of fair play by not following the risk game rules. Lively forums are fun, but ‘that guy’ often acts like an internet tough-guy and adds zero value to the discussion. Nobody likes ‘that guy’.

We also run a one warning policy. If you are being ‘that guy’, we will let you know, and request you to stop and follow the risk game rules. If you continue to be ‘that guy’, you will receive a permanent site-wide ban. If you find yourself banned, you can appeal the decision after a specified amount of time.

Particularly egregious offenders will get the ban hammer without warning.

If you have any questions about our policy, ask away, or just note Badorties, Incandenza or Ghost.

Major Command risk strategy real time games

Risk Strategy Real Time Games

So you are looking to play some real time games? Awesome. We recognize that many players really want to start and finish a risk strategy game in under 30 minutes or so. We are making Major Command risk strategy real time games a core component of our experience here.

In fact, Major Command risk strategy real time games are already available to Central Command. See below:

Risk strategy real time games

The turn length options are for 5 minutes, which is a healthy speed, and 2 min, which requires some serious focus.

We used to have this option available for all players but brought it back behind the curtain because there weren’t enough users to support it.  There was always players who wanted real time, but never enough that they were on at the same time.

Real time games require tons of users to be on at the same time  to be possible that a person can jump into a real time game and have it be over before their lunch break is up.  If someone has to wait 15 minutes trolling for a real time game to start, then that not the experience we want to give our users.

Now that our membership is swelling, we are looking at bringing Real Time games back, since so many people want them.  It might be a rocky re-launch, but we are confident that the wrinkles can be ironed out quickly.

Maybe we can start a forum thread for people looking to hop into a real time game.

So let us know if you are interesting in playing Major Command risk strategy real time games and if you had any suggestions for getting real time players together.

At Major Command Risk strategy game, you will be playing different war strategies that will likely take days to finish.  It’s fun and addictive, trust us.

You can start planing your war strategy now:

Why am I here?

You are here because someone involved with or currently playing Major Command risk strategy game has thought you were cool enough to be invited to play war games online. Maybe they thought you liked the conquer strategy activities … or were lonely. Either way, you should probably be playing online divertissements with this person.

What’s this beta? What do I need to do?

This is a private beta risk strategy game. We have tested many of the playing features during the alpha phase, but more eyes catch more bugs so we are opening up the gates a little.  You don’t really have to do anything, but to be helpful, you should be playing some strategy games, exploring other areas of the site, interacting, etc.  If you find something that you think is a bug, head on over to the forums and post it in the bug report forums. That’s what friends and betas are for.

It looks like this feature is not implemented yet, what gives?

There are many features to Major Command risk strategy games that are still in development and being tested.  There may be references to these features throughout the site.

A bug totally ruined my master plan and I lost! Can you make it right?

No. This is beta so weird stuff may happen. Be cool and carry on.

Great thanks! Major Command risk is awesome!
